(Ottawa, Canada) Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced today the creation of a new broadcasting system, Voices of the Americas. “We are inviting topics and opinions and ideas from ALL of the Americas—North, Central, and South—to be a part of this expanded communications model.”
Carney promised freedom of expression, freedom of discussion, and freedom from DOGE.
He continued, “Voices will be part of the great tradition of the now extinct Voice of America—begun during World War Two to counter NAZI propaganda and continued through the Cold War to reach listeners behind the Iron Curtain.
“Just as then, we’ll be beaming out news, information, and fashion updates to peoples trapped in dictatorships, authoritarian regimes, and bad relationships, including our immediate neighbor to the south.”
Prime Minister Carney added, “By the way, I want to extend a special invitation to recently unemployed Voice of America professionals to join us in this endeavor. Come on up to the True North Strong and Free. Oh, King Charles says welcome.”
Please be real this time, please.
